Hilma af Klint at the Guggenheim Museum

Although I'm not there in New York to see the Hilma af Klint exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum, it still seems important to mention it. She was a Swedish painter in the turn of the century. She is now starting to be considered an artist who was making abstract paintings prior to Wassily Kandinsky. Here is the New York Times art review by Roberta Smith:

Lydia Okumura at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

I recently visited SMoCA for the first time. It was good to see exceptional art, presented in such a thoughtful way. The exhibit, called Situations, consisting of installation art and drawings by Lydia Okumura, was particularly outstanding. Read more about her work for this exhibit here: https://smoca.org/exhibition/lydia-okumura-situations/

This is an informative article about Okumura's background, and contains some more high quality images of her artwork: http://www.arteviste.com/arteviste/2017/10/18/a-review-of-lydia-okumura-fives-sides-and-other-dimensions-at-broadway-1602-new-york
